Asheville NC vacation rentals are popular for their natural mountain locations, but once you’re checked in, venturing into the city of Asheville will reveal some hip urban spots, too.
Izzy’s Coffee Den (828-258-2004) at 74 N. Lexington Avenue in downtown Asheville is a gathering place for artistic types and anybody else who wants enjoy a great cup of Joe in a cool setting. From the revolving art by indie visual artists on the walls, to the eclectic music in the background and the mix of retro furniture, Izzy’s has a bohemian vibe in keeping with many of the neighboring shops in the Lexington Avenue district. Before you go in, you might to stop in across the street at Downtown Books and News to pick up a copy of your favorite magazine or newspaper, or a used book, to enjoy with your brew.
For evenings away from Asheville NC vacation rentals, the Rankin Vault Cocktail Lounge (828-254-4993) at 7 Rankin Avenue downtown is a great place to start. The readers of Mountain Xpress newspaper voted it among the best in the “Hipster Bar” category of the annual “Best of WNC” awards in 2009.
