I’m not a mass-produced eligible man, traditionally interested in going alone like a spoil sport. I’d wager you guys have never witnessed me blog about great dating and companionship. There’s a reason for that.

Idleness is a fixable foreign condition and intentionally absent from my pedigree. However, Winter of 09 was an exception, I definitely needed to squelch a worthwhile fling that meant something to me but essentially deadended for both of us. Therefore somone might say it has been years since I was dating. I can’t find the great expectations in relationships I held years ago.

Single life has had its perks so far. One thing is for sure, I won’t be reduced to lounge about, peacefully watching Battlestar Galactica reruns. The real cause of this spell of weekend dating loneliness? This isn’t college, and everyone else is boring.

My former college friend, Tim, who will never have dating lameness, told me he’s currently shooting from the same blind as I am. He signed up for Great Expectations Phoenix. A bit out of character, but I take to chatting up new chicas who meet my values. So I put myself on a plan and became a member.

Here’s the deal, ya can’t feel down by being alone if ya haven’t called anyone. Just like my college baseball coach Terry Kniffen chimed in with a smile, “You’re complaining to the competition, sparky.”

Coach was crazy, and a little out of touch. However, the old guy was a source of truth without being self-righteous. He was good humored. This fantastic series of singles events in Dallas here might have short circuted the old man’s noggin’.

At great expectations singles events I breezily chatted with some insightful and appealing ladies that hold my interest. I actually had a blast with some pretty noteworthy men and women. The evening ended with a sweet farewell, in addition to the fact that I grew some professional connections for work. I’m impressed.

Get out there. Can’t go wrong if you sit the bench. Listen to me and at least have great expectations for dating.
